About Chip Higgins

A Career Journey Inspired by Growth

Chip Higgins, Middle Tennessee President of CapStar Bank and Founder of Bizzics, LLC, has built a four-decade career around one central mission: helping people reach higher levels of performance by aligning with the principles that govern success.

1984 — Entering Commercial Banking

Chip began his career in commercial banking in 1984, quickly earning a reputation for blending sharp analytical skill with a warm, approachable leadership style. Even early on, he wasn’t content with personal success—he aimed to elevate everyone around him.

1980s–2000s — Building High-Performing Banking Teams

Across a series of regional banks, Chip helped shape cultures that consistently achieved top-tier results. Every institution he served earned national recognition as a high-performing bank from Greenwich Associates. His ability to connect business strategy with human motivation became a hallmark of his leadership.

2017 — Award-Winning Leadership at Pinnacle

As SVP and Business Banking Team Leader at Pinnacle Financial Partners, Chip guided his team to significant success. Pinnacle tied for the largest number of Small Business Excellence Awards in 2017—another example of Chip’s commitment to team achievement.

2010s — Expanding Influence Through Coaching and Speaking

Driven by a desire to help leaders beyond the banking world, Chip became a founding member of the John Maxwell Team of certified coaches, speakers, and trainers. His work has carried him from Nashville boardrooms to leadership development initiatives in Uganda, where he continues to invest in emerging leaders.

Founding Bizzics — A Framework for Growth

Chip launched Bizzics, LLC to formalize the principles he’d used throughout his career. As an author and speaker, he now shares these laws of nature—practical, grounded, and growth-focused—with individuals and organizations striving for excellence.

Chip’s Work in Uganda

For more than a decade, Chip Higgins has invested in leadership development efforts in Uganda, working with emerging leaders and community builders. These experiences strengthened his belief that the principles of growth are universal—a perspective that continues to shape his coaching, his writing, and the Bizzics framework.
